Art-led parties kids talk about for years. We handle the space, the activity, and the cleanup — you just bring the birthday kid.

A party where the art is the activity

Every Playday party is hosted in one of our studios and led by a teaching artist. The kids dive into a hands-on art project together — painting, sculpting, tie-dye, printmaking, sensory play — and everyone leaves with something they made.

The party runs two hours. We set up before you arrive, run the activity, and clean up when you leave. Parents get to be guests, not event managers. Need more time? You can add a half hour or a full hour.

  • Setup before the party, and all the cleanup after

You bring

A short list — that is the point

  • The birthday child
  • A cake or cupcakes
  • Paper goods, like plates, napkins, forks, and cups
  • Any food or drinks you want to serve
  • Decorations you want to add (optional, we keep it tasteful without them)
  • Goodie bags, if you want them (or add ours)

Common questions

The things parents ask before they book.

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking your date 1 to 2 months in advance. Weekend slots fill up fast, and spring and fall dates go even faster.
How many guests can we have?
Up to 50 people total. Each location can host up to 32 children per party. Depending on the age range of the children, there may be a limit on how many parents can attend. Adults are always welcome and are not counted toward the child total.
What ages is it for?
Playday parties are for all ages. The activity is adapted to the birthday child's age group, from toddler-friendly sensory play for the youngest kids to more involved projects for the older ones.
Can we bring our own cake, food, and decorations?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own cake, cupcakes, food, and decorations. We do not provide paper goods, so please bring your own plates, napkins, forks, and cups. All outside catering is fine, and alcohol is also allowed.
Do we need to bring art supplies?
No. We supply all standard art materials, aprons included. Specialty materials are an extra charge, and you are welcome to bring your own specialty supplies.
What if it rains or something comes up?
Life happens. There is no charge to reschedule. If you need to cancel, you receive a $200 credit toward any Playday offering. Reach out to your location as soon as you can and we will work with you to find a new date.
How do we hold our date?
A $200 deposit reserves your date and time slot, and you reserve it through our schedule page.
