Sick Child
At Playday, we prioritize the health and safety of all our participants. If your child is feeling unwell, we kindly ask that they refrain from attending the session to prevent the spread of illness and ensure a positive creative experience for everyone. Please see our guidelines below.
Note: For emergencies, 911 will be called and an incident report will be provided to the child's parent/guardian.
1. Health Precaution: If your child has a fever, contagious illness (such as a cold, flu, or stomach virus), or is showing symptoms like excessive coughing, sneezing, fatigue, vomiting, or diarrhea, please keep them at home. We encourage you to seek medical advice if necessary. If such symptoms or illness are discovered while the child is present at a studio, Playday will notify the child's parents/guardian as soon as possible. We will allow the child to rest until a caregiver/guardian comes to pick them up.
2. Notify Us: If your child is unable to attend a booked session due to illness, please notify us as soon as possible so we can make any necessary adjustments.
3. Return to Program: Children may return to Playday once they are symptom-free for 24 hours and can fully participate in the activities.
Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy and creative space for all children at Playday.
Fighting Incident
Both families of the children involved will be notified. An incident report will be given to each parent/guardian.
Day To Day Rules
Only one child will be allowed in the bathroom at a time. There is always one teacher inside and one outside if there is outdoor play. Snacks and lunch will be eaten sitting at a table.
Medical Needs / Allergies
Playday staff are not permitted to administer medication to program participants. In the event of a medical emergency, Playday will administer first aid, CPR, and rescue in the best interest of the child. Parents/guardians will be contacted if care is administered and will be provided with an incident report. Allergy medications may be administered if directed in writing by the child's parent/guardian (please specify on your child's waiver form).
Special Circumstances
Parents and guardians are required to specify on Playday's waiver and inform the respective studio by email, prior to the child's first session, of any special circumstances which may affect the child's ability to participate fully and within the guidelines of acceptable behavior, including, but not limited to, any serious behavioral problems or special circumstances regarding psychological, medical, or physical conditions. Once Playday is informed, a conference will be scheduled with the parent/guardian to discuss the special circumstances and whether Playday can accommodate those circumstances.
Dress Code
Children should dress appropriately for the activities scheduled. Be prepared to get messy.
Personal Belongings
Please put the child's name on all articles of clothing, snack bags, bags, etc. Children should not bring toys, mobile phones, electronic devices, jewelry, money, or any possession of value with them to any of the programs. Children will be responsible for their belongings.
Behavior Management / Discipline Policy
Playday staff will create a fun and safe environment for participants in the program. Praise and positive reinforcement are used as effective methods of behavior management. Children who do not respond to these methods or who are destructive to others or to property will be dealt with in a professional, positive, and timely manner to correct the behavior. The following procedures will be followed for behavior management. All incident reports will be discussed privately with parents/guardians and a copy of each report will be kept on file at Playday.
1. In the event a child's behavior is a repeated behavior and cannot be corrected by the Playday staff with a verbal warning or other form of behavior modification, a first incident report will be written to document and correct the behavior. A copy of the report will be given to the parent/guardian the same day as the incident.
2. A second incident report will be written if the behavior is repeated, or new behavior problems occur with the same child. This report will follow the same process as the first, but a one or two day suspension could accompany this report, and no refund will be provided for suspended days. A copy of the report will be given to the parent/guardian the same day as the second incident.
3. A third incident report will be completed using the same process as the first two. The Playday staff will write this report and provide it to the parent/guardian. Incident reports will be discussed privately with a parent/guardian by Playday staff and director. Dismissal from a program can occur at this time.
Note: Immediate dismissal from the program can occur at any time given severe circumstances. Refunds for missed days due to a discipline dismissal will not be granted.
Nutrition / Snacks
Children must bring a snack and a drink in a non-glass container each day. Snacks should be in a paper, plastic, or reusable bag clearly labeled with the child's name. Beverages must be clear or light colored. Brightly colored drinks are prohibited. Food must be peanut-free. Please do not send gum or candy.

If using a class package, a credit will be used if pick up goes past 15 minutes, cutting into the next class. Please check your email for Playday announcements. Please email us with anything we need to know about your child and we will notify your instructor. If waitlisted, we will notify you if a spot opens up. Please, no cell phones during class. Chewing gum is not permitted. Come to class with a positive attitude and prepared to be your creative best.
Camp 5+
Doors will open by 9:00am for regular drop off time. Early drop off is at 8:30am. Families must pack nut-free lunches, snacks, water bottles, and a change of clothes. There is a fridge and freezer available. Playday provides water, natural sunscreen, and natural bug spray. If a child puts any other child, the staff, or themselves in danger on purpose, Playday will suspend them from camp. Shoes must be worn at all times.
Birthday Parties
Children under 4 must be accompanied by an adult. Birthday families can show up no earlier than 1 hour prior to their birthday party. We highly suggest dropping off supplies during any weekday before the party so we can start on your set up. For extravagant decor beyond balloons, banner, and wall decor that needs more than an hour to set up, there will be a fee for that time. No adhesives on walls, chalkboard, or whiteboard when decorating. If used and there is damage, there will be a fee. Alcohol is allowed.
A full size fridge and freezer are available. Gratuity is encouraged for our birthday instructors' service.
